Google Updates Travel Searches to Help Find Budget-Friendly Options

Google is developing new travel search features to help users find better options for flights and hotels.

Price Insights for Flight Searches

Google will now show a price insight for most of the trips, which defines whether the prices you’re seeing are high, typical or low.

Price insights will also help to understand whether the current price will get any higher or lower in the future. Earlier, this feature would only display when searching for flights on holiday dates.

Find Flights Based on Budget

If you have a fixed budget that you want to spend on a flight, you can search for all the available options for that price point.

For instance, if you’re in New York and want to spend less than $150 on a flight, you can use a price slider to set your range and see only destinations within that range.

This feature is only available on the desktop.

Filter Hotels by Best Deals

Now, if you are searching for hotel options, use Google’s new deals filter. It uses machine learning to highlight hotels where rates are remarkably lower than usual.

When viewing a hotel in search results Google will show expanded pages for photos and reviews curated with machine learning. In the past, Google would specify when you stumbled on a good hotel deal, but now you can specifically search for hotels offering the best deals.
